Brussel Sprout Bouquet

The cheery green (and the chocolate and pretty candle) combat grey January days.

Brussel Sprouts on the Stalk

Brussel sprouts on the stalk, for those who didn't know what they looked like in their natural form.

I got some Brussel sprouts on the stalk from the local Farmer’s Market, and after getting all the sprouts off, put the stalk’s head in water on my sideboard. It’s been such a fun pop of color, even if it’s not a flower technically, it’s perked up my mood and made me smile.

I sent the kids outside today (first really great day for it of the month), it makes my heart happy to hear them laugh and giggle, E finds EVERYTHING B does hilarious, and so he’s constantly trying something new to make her laugh. Today it was pushing her, in the Cozy Coupe, as fast as he could go and “crashing” into things. (He actually slows up before he slams into things, and she knows to keep her feet out of the way.) It’s so fun to see them playing together.

We’re working on growing E’s bangs out, she’ll keep them braided and in a hairclip for church and while she’s outside, but as soon as she gets home or comes inside, she takes the clips out. Both the kids got my habit of being “super comfy” at home; we have “house pants” (sweats/yoga wear that are home-only attire), kick off our shoes and take off our socks as soon as we hit the carpet on the home-side of the front door, and we like to lie down to read, laugh, talk and play.
